The Club

From the Captain

I am very honoured and proud to take up the role as Captain of our Club.

Firstly, I would like to thank our outgoing Captain Tom for all the good advice and his guidance over the last 12 months.

I'd like to welcome Fred my Vice-captain. I'm glad you accepted and looking forward to making this a fun year.

Also, congratulations to Natalia our new Lady Captain. I look forward to working alongside you and hopefully we can move the club forward.

To the Members old and new, our green staff Ritchie and Paul do a tremendous job. Let us assist them by doing what we can. Replacing divots, repairing pitch marks and raking bunkers is our responsibility, not theirs.

Good luck to the team for the coming season. Any support from members in team games is always greatly appreciated.

There will be various events in the clubhouse throughout the year. Watch out for those and I thank you all in advance for your support.

I will endeavour to meet and play golf with as many of you as possible.

Finally, I would like to wish everyone at the golf club good luck and hope 2025 is a successful season for all.

From the Ladies Captain

I'm Natalia, and I'm honoured to serve as the Ladies' Captain for Birtley Golf Club this year. I feel privileged to represent such an amazing group of women who share a passion for golf, camaraderie, and friendly competition.

I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our current members for their ongoing enthusiasm and support. And to those considering joining us, we can't wait to welcome you into our community. Whether you're an experienced golfer or just starting out, you'll find a friendly, encouraging atmosphere here where you can improve your game, forge new friendships, and enjoy memorable rounds on the course.

I would also like to take a moment to wish our gents captain, Dave Browne, and our seniors captain, Owen Kirby, the very best of luck this season. Together, our teams will help elevate the club experience for everyone involved. We'll work closely with our dedicated committee to continually enhance our club environment, ensuring that we all enjoy not only excellent golf but also a supportive, inclusive space to connect and grow.

Here's to a fantastic year of golf, friendship, and continuous improvement. I look forward to seeing you on the course!

From the Seniors Captain

Welcome to Birtley Seniors Section for the 2025 season.

We play fixtures between April and September against six other clubs from the area on a home and away basis. There are also Seniors competitions which are open to all club members 55 and over and are played mid-week. The Seniors Section will accept membership from all members 55 and over. There is a small yearly fee to pay for joining the section.

I hope everyone stays fit and healthy and I welcome members, new and old, for the coming season.
